Beat-to-beat Blood Pressure


The measurement of continuous non-invasive blood pressure is based on the Finapres technology, the methodology to measure finger arterial pressure as implemented in TNO Finapres Model 5 and Ohmeda Finapres 2300. The method builds on two principles:

  • the arterial volume clamp method of J. Penaz
  • the Physiocal criteria for the proper unloading of the finger arteries of K.H. Wesseling.

    Monitoring


    A full hemodynamics profile including stroke volume, cardiac output and systemic vascular resistance is computed beat-to-beat. It is a model-based measurement method representing our innovative pressure pulse contour model.

    Heart

     

    Reference System


    A Heart Reference System (HRS) is available to automatically compensate for hydrostatic pressure difference due to height difference between finger and heart level. It allows the patient to freely move the hand during the measurements.
